In a major leap for the clean‑energy sector, decarbonisation solutions firm ReNew has announced an investment of ₹82,000 crore in the entire renewable‑energy value chain in Andhra Pradesh, revealed IT Minister Nara Lokesh on Thursday.
This bold move signals the company’s full‑scale re‑entry into the state and a strategic commitment to high‑technology manufacturing, project development, and green‑molecule production.
The investment will span from advanced manufacturing, including solar ingots and wafers, to utility‑scale deployment and emerging green‑hydrogen and molecule technologies, Lokesh said in a post on platform X. “In an investment spanning Rs 82,000 crores, ReNew will be investing in the high technology areas of solar ingot, wafer manufacturing, down to project development and onwards to green hydrogen and molecules,” he added.

The move comes after ReNew, which had been absent from Andhra Pradesh for five years, reaffirmed its interest in the region. “After five years out of Andhra Pradesh, it is my proud privilege to announce that ReNew is placing an all‑in investment on the entire renewable‑energy value chain,” Lokesh said.
Earlier this year, on May 16, Lokesh laid the foundation for a separate ReNew project in Anantapur district valued at ₹22,000 crore. That programme included a 4.8 GWp hybrid solar‑wind farm with a battery‑energy‑storage system at Bethapalli village in Gooty mandal.
From an industry perspective, this mega‑investment reinforces Andhra Pradesh’s ambition to become a national front‑runner in renewables manufacturing, storage, and green‑hydrogen ecosystems. For the broader sector, the scale signals strong confidence in integrated value‑chain development—from ingots to molecules—rather than just generation. Analysts will now watch for policy clarity, land and transmission enablement, and offtake mechanisms to ensure this investment translates efficiently into capacity, jobs, and exports.
